He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Sapek, Sr. and Mary Nieratka Sapek; and his siblings, Joseph Sapek, Jr. and Geraldine Buli. He is survived by : his wife Pauline Sapek; his son Richard Sapek of Franklin, NJ; and his sister Elaine Ewasko of Hopatcong, NJ. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church in Franklin, NJ.
