He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, James G. Celano of Freehold, Melissa Cohn (Todd) of Elkton, Maryland and Jennifer Polotti (Steven) of Freehold; his grandchildren, Mallory, Dominic, Abigail and Elliot; and his sister Joan Celano. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home (100 Elton-Adelphia Rd, Freehold Township, NJ 07728). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine (61 Georgia Rd, Freehold Township, NJ 07728). A burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:45 AM at the Maplewood Cemetery (169 W Main St, Freehold, NJ 07728).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Jimmy's memory to the Vintage Automobile Museum of New Jersey, an organization that reflects his lifelong passion for antique automobiles. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home for those who wish to honor Jimmy by supporting a cause that was so close to his heart.
