He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn Baynton Madden; his parents, Michael Madden and Anna Gilluly Madden; his siblings, Mickey and Margaret; and his son-in-law Michael Scanlon.
He is survived by: his children, Glen (Diane), Sharon (Ken McCauley), Maureen (William "Pete" Petersen), Janice (John McDonough), Linda Scanlon (Gary) and Margie; and his grandchildren, Jennifer McCauley (Preston), Erin Liberto (Mat), Ryan McCauley (Melissa), Brian Rowe (Cat), John Petersen (Becky), Kevin Rowe (Jaime), Jeff Rowe (Tara), Meagan Taglione (Tony), Caitlin Thompson (Matt), Michael McDonough (Jylian), Bill Scanlon (Brittany), Tom Scanlon (Amanda), Gregory Mullarkey (Jackie) and Eileen Bye (Rob). He is also survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
