He was predeceased by: his parents, Józef Kowal and Józefa Kowal. He is survived by: his wife Elzbieta Kowal; his sons, Krzysztof Kowal (Magdalena), Slawomir Kowal and Witold Kowal (Patrycja); and his grandchildren, Wiktoria, Filip, Adam, Maya and Amelia. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister in Poland, along with extended family and many dear friends.
