He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Edna Ruth Mattern (Williamson); his children, Debbie DeRobertis (Nick), John Mattern (Nancy), Richard Mattern (Doreen) and Jo Lynn Schmidt; his grandchildren, Kaytlin, Tyler, Samantha, Michelle, Kristina, Kirsten, Jenna, Allison and Lynsey; and his great grandchildren, Michael and Alivia.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shook Funeral Home (639 Van Houten Ave, Clifton, NJ 07013). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:45 AM at the same location.
