He is survived by: his wife Cecilia Laveaud-Sosa; his children, Luis Enrique Zapata, Joshua Zapata and Karen Zapata; his stepdaughter Cynthia Alvarez-Laveaud; his grandchildren, Angel, Leo and Lucas; and his siblings, Godofredo Richard, Reynaldo Bernabe, Walter Federico, Aida, Elba, Maria Luisa, Milagros Lucia, Milagros Fransisca and Maria Rosa Zapata Velasquez.
