With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Phyllis Lee Smith of Garfield, New Jersey, born in Passaic, New Jersey, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 25, 2025. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Michael J Chanda (Monica) of Manahawkin, NJ, James P Chanda (Dalia) of North Wales, PA and Rebecca A Noga (Eric) of Dingmans Ferry, PA; her grandchildren, Koryn, Michael Chanda Jr., Robert, Kara Ryan, Gabriella, Emilia, Zachariah Chanda, Regina Smith, Joseph, Ashley Manzo, Trevor and Johnny; her friend Dan Greco; her daughters, Doreen Chanda and Susan Smith; her parents, John Toth and Ann Toth; her aunt Anna Toth; and her sister Joan Blake.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church (170 Lexington Ave, Passaic, NJ 07055). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the East Ridgelawn Cemetery (255 Main Ave, Clifton, NJ 07014).
