He was predeceased by : his parents, Julia Mary Lyon Alston and Walter C Alston; and his siblings, Herlie McDonald (Garfield), Arbutus Hilliard (Dunbar), Lessie Mae Eason, Lonia Belle Abbott and Celious Alston (Grace).
He is survived by : his wife Clara Marie Risper; his grandchildren, Jarrod Jr., Schuylar and Olivia; his niece Joan; his daughters, Cathy Alston Porcher and Stephanie Robinson; his sons-in-law, Jarrod Porcher of Hackensack and Richard Robinson Jr. of South Carolina; his brother-in-law Frank Abbot Sr.; and his nephews, Garfield McDonald Jr., Harry Eason, Walter McCall (Jackie) and Frank.
