He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Meade Walter and Helen Schneider; and his wife Jean Louise Smith. He is survived by: his children, David Walter, Jr. (Chizuko), Karen Insel (Edward), Douglas Walter (Anne) and Donald Walter (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Douglas, Jamie, Raymond, Daniel and Katherine.
