He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Amato (Philhower); his parents, Leo Amato and Louise Amato (Motz); his birth father Fred Lostro; and his siblings, Michael Amato and Gail Haynes (Amato).
He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Amato, Lauren Coletta (Ross) and Jonathan Amato (Valerie); his grandchildren, Kyle, Kendra, Anthony Coletta, Johnathan and Christopher Amato; and his sister Jeanne Amato (Michael Abbott). He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (15 Furnace Rd, Chester, NJ 07930). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Long Valley Presbyterian Church (39 Bartley Rd, Long Valley, NJ 07853). A burial was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery (85 Pleasant Hill Rd, Chester, NJ 07930).
