He was predeceased by: his son William A. Smart III; and his sons-in-law, Richard Pietravalle and Don Smith. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Lane (Peggy); his children, Suzanne Smart of Santa Fe, NM, Carol Pietravalle of Nashua, NH, Mary Lou Smart (Tom Bernaciak) of Winston-Salem, NC, Jim Smart of Carson City, NV and Kathy Smart of Haddon Township, NJ; and his daughter-in-law Melissa Smart of Hayward, CA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
