He was predeceased by : his parents, Tony Fama and Jennie Fama. He is survived by : his wife Patricia Fama; his children, Andrew Fama (Jennifer) and Stephanie Benitez (Miguel); his grandchildren, Jonathan, Aden Fama, Benicio and Julianna Benitez; his brothers, Peter Fama, Bill Fama (Adriana), Sam Fama and Bob Fama (Mary); and his nieces and nephews, Anthony, Robert, Vincent, Samantha, Jennifer, Nicole, Dan and Bill. He is also survived by his many extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John Fama's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation at parkinson.org.
