He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Ruggiero and Irene Ruggiero; and his sister Estelle. He is survived by: his son Evan; his brother Vincent; his nephew Vincent; and his nieces, Gina and Melissa.
One of the most significant moments of his career was his contribution to the recovery efforts at Ground Zero following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
