He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles E. Maurer and Anna E. Maurer (Murray). He is survived by : his sister Wendy Vandervort (James J. Vandervort III); his niece Virginia Orme (Todd Orme); his great-niece Emma Orme; his great-nephew Benjamin Orme; his nephew James J. Vandervort IV (Joanal); and his great-nieces, Lillian Vandervort and Charlotte Vandervort.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home (202 S 3rd St, Hammonton, NJ 08037). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at the Greenmount Cemetery (124 S 1st Rd, Hammonton, NJ 08037).
