It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Odessa D. Hayes (Hammonton, New Jersey), born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Delaine and Charity Delaine; her former husband Rev. Thomas Hayes; and her siblings, Marge Davis, Pete Delaine, Arnold Delaine and Ben Delaine.
She is survived by: her spouse Pennsauken; her son Thomas; her daughter-in-law Monique Hayes; her daughter Denise; her son-in-law Lawrence Smith; her grandchild Brea Smith of Janay Smith, LJ; her granddaughter-in-law Clarissa Smith; her grandchild Dominque Hayes; her siblings, Bendelon Sewell, Yvonne (Leroy Vermillo) and Chantio (Betty Delaine); and her caregivers, Natasha Vicente, Herma Gibbons, Ria Mitchell and Donna Forbes. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Road, Hammonton, NJ 080378, In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. James AME Church.
