He was predeceased by: his wife Adriana Velarde; and his children, Adriana and Hector Velarde. He is survived by: his children, Lucia, Florencio, Patricia, Omar Velarde and Clarisa Claeyssen; and his siblings, Edgardo, Maruja and Victor Velarde. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
