He is survived by: his wife Ana Alves Mendes; his grandchildren, Briana, Ariana McGuire, Liana and Juliana Fontes; his siblings, Ana Alves, Teresa Mendes Rodrigues, Florentina Cadete Mendes and Luis Cadete Mendes; and his nieces, Zulmira Rosa and Dora Maria.
