He was predeceased by: his parents, Alessandro Chiarella and Aurora Chiarella; and his brother Livio. He is survived by: his wife Rosina; his sons, Alex and Robert; his daughter-in-law Mary; his grandchildren, John and Laura; and his brother Gaetano.
In 2022, he and Ozzie's Barbershop received special recognition from Governor Phil Murphy and the State of New Jersey for his contribution to the local community.
