He was predeceased by : his wife Marie "Scotty" Egan Ruvoldt; his sister Arlene Chiapetta; and his nephew Marc Chiapetta. He is survived by : his daughters, Maria Ruvoldt and Margaret Ruvoldt; his grandchildren, Jack Malamud, Alec Hoffman, Zhana Hoffman and Hilary Malamud; his sons-in-law, Jason Malamud and Darren List; his niece Alison; his nephew Jim Campoli; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Patrick Casteneda and Carly Campoli; his significant other Cathy Fleming; and also Harold.

“I worked for Prosecutor Ruvoldt in the early 80s. We affectionately referred to him as Dirty Harry because he was a relentless crime fighter taking on the worst of the worst drug smugglers. I was happy to reconnect with him recently after all these years. I’m grateful for the opportunity he afforded me and happy that he got to see the role he played in my success.
