It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elvera MacGilvray of Hawthorne, New Jersey, born in Paterson, New Jersey, who passed away on March 1, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Cornelius Kypers; her former husband Ian "Scotty" H. MacGilvray; and her parents, Frank A. Laughton and Vera Laughton. She is survived by: her sons, Jeff Kypers (Carol), Steve Kypers (Terry) of Vernon, NJ and Kenneth Kypers (Jackie) of Pompton Plains, NJ; her stepchildren, Scott MacGilvray (Tina) and Dawn Wells (Pete); her brothers, Charles Laughton of Lake Placid, FL and Frank Laughton of Huntsville, AL; her grandsons, Dan, Kevin, Neil, Ryan, Tyler and Gary Kypers; her stepgrandsons, Christopher and Michael MacGilvray; and her great grandchild Ben. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

We would always greet her as she came in, and we would ask how she was- she ALWAYS responded with "Not bad for an old dame!"
