He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Bernius and Without. He is survived by: his children, Richard Bernius (Julie Bussgang) of Berkeley, CA, Scott (Paola Bernius), Ecuador, Brian (Niki Bernius) and Tricia Bernius of Fremont, CA; his grandchildren, Michelle, Alex, Andrew, Katelyn, Samantha, Gia and Amy; his sister Gail Cargiulo; and his girlfriend Susan Minneker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America (bsa.org or your local Boy Scout Troop), or Junior Giants (jrgiants.org) which helps underprivileged youth get access to youth baseball.
