He was predeceased by: his parents, Berteen Hendricks Wilson and Wendell Holmes Wilson; his siblings, Barbara Henderson, Angie Wilson, Gwendolyn Spruill, Robert Wilson, Oliver Wilson and James Wilson; and his former wife Leatrice Dianne Wilson.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Harris Wilson; his children, Alicia Wilson, Racquel Wilson and Andre Wilson; his grandchild Tenzin Wilson; his stepchildren, Kassia Stanberry, Tahesha Stanberry and Peter Gillette; his stepgrandchildren, Jasmin Haskins, Brandon Stanberry (Marlena) and Jamaal Morris; his brother-in-law Clay Harris (Sherri); his sister Jacquelyn Wilson; and his nieces, Sophia Terry (Joshua), Lisa Williams and Karen Wimbish. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
