He was predeceased by : his wife Catherine R. Shockley; his son Stephen; his grandson John III; and his great grandchildren, Matthew Stahl and Madilyn Fortwengler.

He is survived by : his children, John (Linda), Patricia Sheridan (Christopher), Michael (Lori), Diane Stahl (John) and Robert Shockley. He is also survived by children, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild.
