He was predeceased by : his parents, Edna Schafer, and Robert Schafer, Sr.; and his brother Robert L. Schafer, Jr.. He is survived by : his wife Jane Schafer; his daughter Julie (Edward Bacome); his stepchildren, Robert Lawler (Cathie), Mary Jane (Russell Rogers) and Christine (Eric Mauriello); and his grandchildren, Natalie, Bryan, Camryn, Lucas, Marcus, Julia, Danny and Derek.
