He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Gilyard and Mary Gilyard (West); his wife Lois Gilyard; his siblings, Sandra, Alice, June, Mary, Marlene, Gracie, Leroy, William, Robert and Sammy; and his granddaughter Felicia McKenzie.
He is survived by: his children, Jimmy, Daniel Jr. (late Sandra), Eric (Johanna), Terry (Monique), Sammy, Michele and Dina; his grandchildren, Lamisha, Tankeisha, Jaimie, Dolores, Antonia, Lois Azlin, Terence Jr., Jerica, Jourdan, Ayden, Eohnna, Eriana, Jeniah, Maxwell, Mia, Jayden, Samuel Jr., Daniel III, Sebastien, Elijah and Isaiah; and his sister Margie "Minnie". He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended relatives.
