We are sad to announce that on September 5, 2025, at the age of 87, Luz E. Ortiz of Hopatcong, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry Luz's memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. May Luz's journey be filled with peace and serenity, and may she find rest in the embrace of eternity.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pedro Rios and Monserrate Pineiro Rios; and her husband Pedro Ortiz. She is survived by: her sons, Peter Ortiz, Jr. and Daniel Ortiz; and her grandchildren, Debra and Matthew. She is also survived by relatives and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home (150 Landing Rd, Landing, NJ 07850). A prayer was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the George Washington Memorial Park (234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652).
