He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, James Herring and Catherine Herring; his brother Ed; his sons, Louis Herring (Lisa) and Nicholas Herring; his granddaughter Hannah; his close friend Judy Vowertas; and his sisters, Denise McGrath (Tom) and Karen Bordfeld (Chris). He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews; his close friends.

Fred Vorwerk wrote a sympathy message

“I hadn’t seen Tom since the fall at a car show and am so sad at his passing. He was a unique and beautiful person and alway ready to help if there was anything he could do. My heart goes out to his family. I know that life is a rocky road but he was a true gem. He will be missed by many. My prayers go out to him and family. May God bless his soul. Fred Vorwerk”
