He is survived by : his wife Elizabeth Purcell; his children, Jennifer Lieberman (Adam) of Howell and Michael Purcell; and his grandchildren, Jessica and Jake. He is also survived by numerous cousins, neighbors and friends.

A reception was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home (100 Elton-Adelphia Rd, Freehold Township, NJ 07728). The inurnment was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the C. Doyle Nj Veterans Cemetery (350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562).

“Betty and family, Ardath and I are so saddened for your loss. Ed, Frank and I played in the Sayreville HS band together. We played the baritone and sat next to each other in practice and performances at football games. We became very good friends and had a wonderful time together throughout high school. The last time I saw Ed was at the twins’ 80th birthday party and I was so thankful that I had the chance to see Ed. May God Bless Ed and the Purcell family. Love Marchesi Family”
