He was predeceased by: his wife Caroline Zimmerman (Wyckoff); his parents, Helen Zimmerman and Eugene Zimmerman; and his siblings, Mary, Helen, August (Johnny), Eugene (Zeke), Arthur (Dolly) and Frankie.
He is survived by: his children, Helen (Anthony Marra III) of Manalapan, Mabel (John Lucas Sr.) of Freehold, Henry Zimmerman Jr. of Jackson and Carrie (Michael Murray Sr.) of Howell; his grandchildren, Nicole (Dominick Basile Sr.), Amy (William Blanchfield), Courtney Marra, Anthony Marra IV, Caroline (Jonathan Spages), Theresa (David Chesley), John Lucas Jr., Thomas Lucas, Michael Murray Jr., Sofia Murray, Alexa Murray and McKenna Murray; his great grandchildren, Juliana, Jessie, Dominick Jr. (Basile), Liam, Elizabeth (Blanchfield), Cameron, Natalie, Olivia (Spages) and David Jr. (Chesley); and his siblings, Anna Abate, Clara Zimmerman and Charles Zimmerman.
