It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Luis Gutierrez of Jersey City, New Jersey, who passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Silvestre Gutiérrez (Ynocencia Durand) and Lima; and his son-in-law Abdel-Hamid Ammar. He is survived by: his wife Maria Gutierrez; his children, Yesica Gutierrez, Andy Gutierrez and America Ammar; his grandchildren, Yasmin, Nabila, Omar and Alexi; and his brothers, Idelfonso, Basilides, Tomas, Wilfredo and Jose Gutierrez.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at 7:00 PM and on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation (3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07306). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Church (3026 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07306). A burial will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Laurel Grove Cemetery (295 Totowa Rd, Totowa, NJ 07512). A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 4:30 PM.
