He was predeceased by: his sister Poppy; and his brother-in-law Zafiri Loukis. He is survived by: his children, Kleanthes Parmagos and Efy McCarthy; his brother Stelios Parmagos; his grandchildren, Maria Parmagos, Cristina Parmagos, Melissa McCarthy and Jessica McCarthy; and also Alzheimers.

He lovingly and compassionately cared for his wife Mary throughout her battle with Alzheimers until her death in 2014.
