He is survived by : his wife Ethel Harris; his children, Thomas Mixon Jr., Monique Sanford and Tonya Mixon; his sister Gloria Hawkins; his sister-in-law Eleanor Mixson; his grandchildren, Saniya Griffin, Kayla Sanford, Kelsie Sanford, Zion Mixon and Christian Mixon; and his great grandchild Marcus Olius.
