He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Phelan and William H. Phelan Jr.; and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his wife Mary Una; his children, William, Thomas (Cristina), Ted, Matthew (Analy), Daniel, John (Dunia) and Alice Carrico (Chris); his sister Susan Grayson (Larry); his sister-in-law Louise Phelan; and his grandchildren, Matthew, James, Gabriel, Katherine, Gabriela, John, Cecilia and Thomas.
