It is with sadness that the passing of George Myles Mitchell (Kinnelon, New Jersey) is shared. George, born on August 28, 1946, passed away on September 27, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry George Mitchell and Marie Sakarofos; and his wife Joanne. He is survived by: his children, George M. Mitchell III (Susan) and Courtney Riche (Kevin); his grandchildren, Cullen J. Mitchell, Aidan Mitchell, Jillian Riche and Timothy Riche; his siblings, Diane May (Chuck), Bonnie MacLeod and Mark Mitchell (Alison); and his nieces and nephews, Cindy, Chuckie, David, Scott and Todd.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Scanlan Funeral Home (781 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444). A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Our Lady of Magnificat Cemetery (2 Miller Rd, Kinnelon, NJ 07405).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW in Marlton in George's memory.
