She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Fretz and Franklin Fretz; her sister Evelyn Fretz; her son Christopher Stevens; and her son-in-law Allen Verge.
She is survived by: her husband Arthur; her daughters, Cynthia Risden (Raymond Risden) and Betsy Verge; her daughter-in-law Marie Stevens; and her grandchildren, Melissa Loutas (Nick), Jennifer Miller (Denny), Alissa Fisher (Brian) and Russell Risden. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Riggs Funeral Home (130 N Main St, Forked River, NJ 08731).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Emmanuel Community Church, Bayville, N.J., Helping Assist with Melis, Forked River, N.J., or Lacey Food Bank, Forked River, N.J.
