She was predeceased by: her parents, Adam Savage and Johanna Van Savage (Halaburda); her husband Edward J. Shimkus; and her brothers, Adam Van Savage (Ann) and Reginald Van Savage (Frances).
She is survived by: her sons, Edward Shimkus (Zulma Aponte-Shimkus) and Daniel Shimkus (Karen); her grandchildren, Margot Shimkus, Carley Buchignani (Peter), Danielle Butterly (Matthew) and Jaclyn Shimkus; and her great grandchildren, Brock Buchignani and Saoirse Butterly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Werson Funeral Home (635 N Wood Ave, Linden, NJ 07036). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Apostle Church (571 Valley Rd, Clark, NJ 07066).
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN>, 38105-9959 in her memory would be appreciated.
