We announce the death of Denise Schmidt (Linden, New Jersey), born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, who passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 72. Denise will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Winegar and Muriel Winegar; her daughter Jennifer Rebelo; and her sister Cheryl Smith. She is survived by: her husband Richard Schmidt of Colonia, NJ; her daughters, Wendy Dabrowski of Rahway, NJ and Rebecca Schmidt of Brooklyn, NY; her brothers, Harry Winegar of Sparta, NJ and Glenn Winegar of Metuchen, NJ; her grandchildren, Alex, Olivia and Sophia Rebelo of Colonia, NJ; her nibling Siamese; and her pet Bella.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home (2124 E St Georges Ave, Linden, NJ 07036).
Donations may also be made in Denise's name to the Alzheimer's Association in support of continued research into Alzheimer's and dementia.
