He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ruth Kleinfus; his father Charles Lowy of Lowy's Moving Service; and his children, Mindy (Carl Broadbent), Robin (Carl Embrey), Keith (Gail) and Stephan (Theresa). He was also cherished by 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Gene's memory be honored through an act of kindness toward someone in need.
