He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Pereira Bento and Ludovina Reis; his son Luis Bento; and his siblings, Virginia Batista, Manuel Bento, Maria Lopes, Alice and Silva.
He is survived by: his wife Emilia Bento; his children, Henrique, Carlos, Daniel and Sonia Halen; and his sister Luzia Santos.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Damiano Funeral Home (191 Franklin Ave, Long Branch, NJ 07740). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Star of the Sea Church (101 Chelsea Ave, Long Branch, NJ 07740). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at the Woodbine Cemetery (1173 Eatontown Blvd, Oceanport, NJ 07757).
