Lester Wright Jr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lester Wright Jr. of Long Branch, New Jersey, who passed away on May 4, 2021 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brother Joseph J. Wright. He is survived by: his parents, Adele Wright, Sr. and Lester Wright, Sr. of Long Branch, NJ; and his sisters, Doreen Wright of Neptune, NJ and Carolyn McCain of Neptune, NJ. He is also survived by four nephews and two nieces, plus a host of great nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

“Lester's legacy will live through the thousands of kids he coached in track and field and cross country. At the All Comers meets, long after the running races were over, and we were packing up, Lester still had a line of kids waiting for their turn at the long jump. His patience and dedication to the sport inspired the Youth as well as the Masters athletes.”
