With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lezma Cummings-Bowen of Long Branch, New Jersey, who passed away on May 5, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lebert Gray and Agnes Gray; her former husband Carlton C. Cummings; her husband Gladstone Bowen; her siblings, Herman, Fitzroy (Roy), Henry Gray and Gwendolyn Francis (Peggy); and her grandson Anthony Cummings (Coco Brown).
She is survived by: her siblings, Norah Spence, Edward (Teddy) and Calvin Gray; her children, Charlton (David), Sharon Jefferson, Jason and Carlton Jr. (Michele Cummings); her grandchildren, Darlene, Majidah, Roger (Ayesha Jefferson-Andrews-Herisse), Emily, Anica, Julius Jr., Dominique, Jayden and Carlton III; and her great grandchildren, Sasha, Charlotte (Charlie), Briana, Zena and Rein. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
