With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Ponterio of Mahwah, New Jersey, born in Staten Island, New York, who passed away on October 14, 2025 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Ponterio to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his significant other Catherine. He is survived by: his children, Anthony (Laura) of New Egypt, NJ, Ralph (Elizabeth) of Staten Island, NY, Catherine Ponterio of Mahwah, NJ and John (Caroline) of Scotch Plains, NJ.; his grandchildren, Michael, Anthony (Kensy), Michelle (Jonathan), Nicholas (Sarah), Steven (Amanda), Matthew, Stephanie and Grace; and his great grandchildren, Daniel, Olivia, Avery, Natalie, Jack, Julie and Michael.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff (257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul RC Church (200 Wyckoff Ave, Ramsey, NJ 07446).
