“1) In the Spring of 1964, at 12 1/2, after moving to Trump Village on West 5th Street, the very first person I met, befriending me, was Mike. Back then, he was a lovely colorful character, creating nicknames, seemingly out of thin air, for everyone. For those of our generation, Mike reminded me of Eddie Haskell, on the TV show, 'Leave It To Beaver', who could be so super respectful to parents, yet so irreverent, away from them.”

“3) Looking back, to have a buddy about my age, with real adult sisters and brothers in law, seemed to be so fortunate, when my sister by comparison, was but a young squirt. Then, there was 'Little' niece Robin, who Mike so cherished and doted on, at perhaps 4, who must now be in her early 60s. How so very fleeting, this time thing moves! These mind snapshots, unchanged by time, feel like yesterday, though I probably haven't seen Mike since the early '70s.”

He'd often speak of the tough streets of Williamsburg, where he lived previously, saying no place was tougher than that. I recall his Mom Bella, as I knew her as and Dad, Viktor, plus adult sisters Shirley (Schiffa) and Barbara, way back then and brothers in law!”
