He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Andrew Hanus and Dolores Ann Hanus; and his brother Charles Hanus. He is survived by: his children, Caitlin and Spencer Hanus; his sister Ann Novak (James Novak); his nephews, Gregory Novak and Matthew Novak (Megan Novak); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Maya and Mitchell; his sister-in-law Hilary Hanus; and his nieces, Hilary Hanus and Tiffany Tomioka (Akira Tomioka).
