He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Schafer and Alvonia Schafer of Camden, NJ.; and his siblings, Thomas and Alvonia. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Marlena Arfuso (Bryan Pescina), Jeff Schafer (Kim) and Melissa Carpineto (Nick); and his grandchildren, Anna (Amber), Angela (Michael), Anthony (Karina), Emily, Jonathan, Olivia and Nicholas.
