With solemn reverence, we commemorate Rachel Dean of Mays Landing, New Jersey, whose life came to an end on July 12, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving behind cherished memories. She was predeceased by: her parents, Belle Hogans and Luther Hogans; her husband Lindsey Dean; her daughters, Rochelle and Cynthia McCoy; her son-in-law Kyle Spence; and her siblings, James, Jural, Luther Hogans, Jimmie Lee Whitfield, Sidney Walden, Rebecca H. Gaines and Barbara Jean Whitfield.
She is survived by: her children, April Garrett, Alvin, Allen and Aaron McCoy; her grandchildren, Hakim McCoy (Meka) and Antoinette McCoy; her goddaughters, Juanita Walden and Niambi Hogans; and her daughter Carla Hall. She is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Hope Baptist Church (704 Lexington Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery (Blvd. 50, Weymouth, NJ 08330).
