With sadness, we share the passing of William F. Schmitz (Mays Landing, New Jersey). William, born on December 3, 1939, passed away on September 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Schmitz and Florence Konsier Schmitz; and his sister Ruth Schmitz. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Kerr Schmitz; his children, Brian Schmitz (Stephanie) and Heidi Newman (Jim); his grandchildren, Katherine, Connor, Maddie and Jimmy; his sister-in-law Edie Whalen; and his nephew Greg Whalen.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Boakes Funeral Home, Inc. (6050 Main St, Mays Landing, NJ 08330). A prayer will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Boakes Funeral Home (6050 Main St, Mays Landing, NJ 08330). The military honors will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Richard E. Squires Veterans Cemetery (109 NJ-50, Mays Landing, NJ 08330).
