He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bortzfield and Madge Bortzfield; his brother Paul; and his sister-in-law Pam. He is survived by: his wife Marybeth; his sons, Erik (Amanda) and Evan (Victoria); his grandchildren, Addison, Ava, Jake, Katherine, Nora and Audrey; and his siblings, Mary, Robert (Nancie), Ray and Elaine (Gary).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests honoring Chris by donating to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, American Heart Association, or simply by planting a tree.
