He was predeceased by: his parents, George Burns and Regina Burns. He is survived by: his wife Joan Ann Burns of Southampton, NJ; and his children, Pastor Robert C. Burns Jr. (MaryScott) of Norway, Gary Burns (Janine) of Fort Myers, FL, Gail Gargani (Tony) of Medford Lakes, NJ and Betsy Lucas (Mark) of Monroeville, NJ.. He is also survived by 18 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
