He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Gruntals and Antonija Gruntals (Puzins). He is survived by: his wife Jean Gruntals (Gottschalk); his daughters, Amy Murdter (Jay) and Wendy; his grandson Julien Murdter; and his sister Sylvia Krebs.
